Naruto: Manga Vs Anime

[I believe this is the board for this, seeing the comparison part in the title, but I'm not sure. If this doesn't go here, please move and/or delete it]

Alright, I was really into Naruto a while back, and I always seemed to notice much more than subtle differences between the manga and anime. As I saw it, the anime gave us the spanked and censored version, compared to the manga. The maga's fight scenes were so much better...and a lot more violent and gorier.

Ex: Kakashi performs lightning blade for the first (public) time in an attempt to kill Zabuza, who is entrapped by dogs.

Anime: Haku gets in the way, and just Kakashi's fingers, and a bit of palm are stuck in him. Zabuza attacks, and Haku is holding on, making it hard for Kakashi to run.

Manga: Haku gets in the way, and Kakashi's attack pierces right through Haku's stomach, leaving his hand sticking out the other side, soaked in blood, and some...other stuff (unsure). Zabuza attacks, and the dead body stuck around his arm throws Kakashi off.

Ya see what I mean? There's others too, but I'll post them later. The anime is so sissy compared to the manga!

I would have to agree. The manga has always been darker and more violent. Plus, the names for a few very violent techniques are changed to more 'kid appropriate' versions.

Not to mention the fact the swearing was erased to a minimum. That kind of dropped my entertainment level.

Neji's mark on his forehead looks a little different from the one shown in the manga. In the manga the mark looks more like a swastika. Most likely it was changed to make the series more accessible, you never know how the younger viewers' parents will react. The symbol is most famous as 'The Nazi Symbol' after all.

I see why that would be changed, but still.. They didn't need to change it into something as uninventive as an X.

My friend Joe and I had the same talk. Maybe leave the hooks, or make intricate swirls or something. You know...more serious than:

Kimimaro has blood on his bones in the manga. In the anime... Nothing. Contributes to the goriness argument.

Also, besides goriness, how about the most obvious change!

THE MANGA DOESN'T HAVE SO MUCH DAMN FILLER! Seriously, the anime was raped with filler.

It's because the anime was catching up with the manga. Therefore, they had to chock the anime full of fillers in order to give the manga a new head start.

That totally sucks balls, because that's like abridging the storyline. It won't be as smooth a descent when we climb into Shippuden.

Actually, it hasn't seemed to be a problem so far, seeing as they're filling Shippuden with filler now also!

Shippuden feels so far behind the Manga now, it's not even funny.

Though, I haven't checked Shippuden in a month, I doubt much changed.

I'm just beginning to hate the whole Naruto franchise now.
Except the videogames. Those just keep getting more and more awesome.

Naruto is getting annoying by the day, but yes, the games are awesome. I especially like the fighting style in Storm, even though that game's time line only goes up to the Sasuke retrieval arc.

I like one of Gai's moves... He looks so weird... It's hysterical.

Gai is the essence of LOL. He's definitely the "comic relief" character.

I personally think he's there to bring life into us after seeing a really bad moment. That, and to keep Kakashi from falling asleep where he stands.
